Terms of Service
Last updated: 27 October 2026
These terms apply when you use defendz.in, the free DPDP Security Check, the paid DPDP Security Report, or any Defendz service. By using them you agree to these terms.
1. What the check does
The DPDP Security Check is an automated, passive review of the publicly visible parts of a website and its public DNS records. It reads pages, headers, cookies and DNS the way a normal browser or mail server does. It does not attempt to break into, log in to, or overload any system.
2. You must be authorised
You may only check a website you own or are authorised by its owner to check. By ticking the authorisation box you confirm this. You are responsible for any misuse, and you agree to compensate Defendz for losses caused by checking a website without authorisation.
3. Not legal advice, not a certification
Our reports are technical security and privacy assessments. They point out gaps that relate to duties under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the DPDP Rules, 2025, but they are not legal advice, not a certificate of compliance, and not a full penetration test. Results reflect the website at the time of the check. For legal questions about your obligations, consult a qualified lawyer.
4. Payments
Prices are shown in Indian Rupees and include applicable charges unless stated otherwise. Payments are processed by Razorpay. Your report unlocks once payment is confirmed. Refunds follow our Refund Policy.
5. Report links
Each report has a private link. Anyone with the link can view the report, so share it carefully. We may delete free reports after 12 months.
5A. Accounts and the Advanced Security Assessment
A paid report includes an Advanced Security Assessment of the same domain. To use it you create an account (email and password, or Google sign-in) and keep your login details safe. You are responsible for activity under your account.
Before any advanced checks run, you must prove that you control the domain by adding the verification DNS record or file we give you. By doing so you confirm that you own the website or have the owner’s written authorisation, and you authorise Defendz to run the automated, read-only checks described on our website against that domain and its public DNS. The checks make ordinary web requests (for example to well-known file locations and server settings); they do not exploit weaknesses, log in, guess passwords or load-test your systems. Ownership is checked again before every re-scan.
The assessment includes the initial run plus 3 re-scans within 30 days of purchase. Unused re-scans expire after 30 days and are not refundable separately. Each run produces a PDF report that is confidential to you. The Advanced Security Assessment is automated and is not a manual penetration test.
6. Services
Done-for-you fixes, penetration tests, monitoring and training are provided under a separate written quote or agreement. Penetration testing only starts after written authorisation from the system owner.
7. Liability
We provide the check and reports with reasonable skill and care, but we cannot guarantee that every issue will be found or that your website will never be attacked. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim relating to a report is limited to the amount you paid for it.
8. Acceptable use
Don’t use the service to harm others, to scan websites you aren’t authorised to check, to get around rate limits, or to copy or resell our reports or software without permission.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts of Hyderabad, Telangana have exclusive jurisdiction.
